0 Beer Sips: Some of my Favorite Brews

Being that I'm fairly picky when it comes to the beer I drink, I thought I would share a list of my favorite brews from the NY area.

1. Sixpoint Sweet Action
Location: Brooklyn, NY

If a bar or restaurant have it, I'm ordering it. It's my go to beer. It is a wheat and pale ale, that packs a nice flavorful punch.  All I know is that during the baseball season, Citi Field carries it, and it goes terrific with a nice sausage and pepper sandwich, while watching my favorite baseball team. (NOTE, I AM A HUGE METS FAN)

2. Bronx Pale Ale
Brewery: Bronx Brewery
Location: Bronx, NY

Took forever to find this beer, and when I finally did, it was like striking gold. My first experience was at Madison Square Eats much earlier this year. Enjoyed it with a pork belly and bacon grilled cheese from the Cannibal (which by the way is an amazing sandwich, and restaurant that you should really check out).  Has a nice flavor to it, with a smell of citrus, floral, and caramel hops.  If you see this listed at your local tap room, order it, you'll love it.

3. Singlecut 19-33 Queens Lagrrr!
Brewery: Singlecut Beersmiths
Location: Astoria, NY

I won't lie, I've only had this brew 2 or 3 times, but it's that damn good to be listed here as a favorite of mine. It was so good I bought a growler of it the first night I had it. Got to enjoy this brew at their brewery, so you know it was good. It's quite hoppy so be prepared for that, as I know many people don't like Hoppy beers. To you folks, I say give it a shot, you're going to like it A LOT. Also, if you're in Astoria, go to the brewery itself, the people that work there are pretty awesome as well.

4. Captain Lawrence IPA
Brewery: Captain Lawerence
Location: Elmsford, NY

Ok, so Captain isn't in NYC, but it's close, it's in Elmsford, but really...who cares where its from...their beer is damn good! Now, having quite a few of their beers, I always tend to go back to the IPA, because who doesn't love a good IPA?? I'm not quite sure what it is, but their IPA packs one hell of a punch when continuously drinking it. Packed with hops, it goes perfect with a nice basket of wings or some ribs.

5. Kelso Pale Ale
Brewery: Kelso Beer Co.
Location: Brooklyn, NY

Kelso Pale Ale is a really nice citrus, hoppy brew.  I don't have much to compare it too, as the Pale Ale is the only beer I've had of this fine brewery. However, I remember saying to myself that it went down really smooth, and had a real nice finish to it as well.

Now, look NY and the surrounding areas, especially Long Island have some really great breweries that were left off my list.  Bluepoint, Great South Bay, Southampton, and Brooklyn, are all fine breweries who make outstanding beers.  However, I feel many people know about the beers they make, and have had them at some point in their journeys.  If you think I left someone off this list, want to add to it, or just want to completely disagree with this list...please do so in the comment section below.

CHEERS!!
